Hupy and Abraham Honors Veterans Graphic with flags

This year, Veterans Day will fall on Friday, November 11. Formerly Armistice Day, Veterans Day is the anniversary celebrating the end of World War I. On this day, we pay tribute to all veterans who have served in the military for their selfless service and courage.

Veterans make sacrifices for everything we enjoy as Americans and deserve our respect and admiration every day of the year. All of us at Hupy and Abraham value recognizing veterans in our community for their indispensable service, that’s why one of our missions as a firm is to do well by doing good. The firm takes great pride in supporting causes that we believe benefit both veterans and active service members.

There are many organizations that Hupy and Abraham contributes to, that all members of the Wisconsin community can become involved with or help as well. But if you’re not able to lend financial support, there are many things you can do this Veterans Day to show servicemen and servicewomen your appreciation for their sacrifice.

Ways to Honor Our Veterans

Observe a Moment of Silence

At 2:11 p.m. Eastern Standard time on the 11th day of the 11th month of the year, Americans voluntarily pause for two minutes to honor veterans. The Veterans Day Moment of Silence Act was passed in 2015 as a time to reflect on the service and sacrifice all veterans, past and present, have made throughout the history of our nation.

Connect with a Veteran

If you personally know a veteran, reach out to them this Veterans Day. If they are comfortable, ask them about their experiences in the military and thank them for everything they have done. Alternatively, you could also mail a thank-you card to a veteran you know. If you do not personally know any veterans, you can send letters through many organizations.

Educate Yourself

To better understand our veterans and the sacrifices they have made, educate yourself on the history of the holiday and what it means to America.

Be Safe

This is a day to honor those who serve, and have served, our communities and our country – not simply another holiday or day off work. Make sure to be respectful during this holiday.

Happy Veterans Day!

All of us at Hupy and Abraham extend our deepest thanks to all veterans and active members of the military for their continued service. We hope you and your family enjoy the holiday and stay safe. But if for any reason you or a loved one are injured this Veterans Day, please contact us at 800-800-5678 for a free consultation, or start a live chat with us anytime at Hupy.com.
