To support equal justice, the personal injury law firm of Hupy and Abraham sponsored the “12th Annual Howard B. Eisenberg Lifetime Achievement Award Dinner.”  Proceeds from the event went toward the Wisconsin Equal Justice Fund, Inc. Several members of the firm, including Attorney Michael Hupy and his wife Suzanne, attended in support of the fundraiser.

Over $235,000 was raised to support the Wisconsin Equal Justice Fund’s three-member legal services providers: Disability Rights Wisconsin, Legal Action of Wisconsin and Wisconsin Judicare.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Attorney W. David Romoser for his work in the community and Attorney Karen L. Tidwall received the Presidential Service Award for her leadership. Attorney Robert J. Andersen received the Distinguished Service Award for helping create laws that benefit minorities and other lower class people.

The Wisconsin Equal Justice Fund is an organization comprised of legal professionals addressing the unmet legal needs in Wisconsin. Through these member services, they provide pro bono legal services to low-income people who are victims of domestic violence, suffer from disabilities or face other challenges.

Equal justice has always been important to Hupy and Abraham. The firm traces its roots to Attorney Lloyd A. Barbee who fought for the integration of Milwaukee Public Schools. Furthermore, Attorney Michael Hupy was recently recognized as the Principal Benefactor for the Milwaukee Justice Center, another organization providing pro bono legal services.
