The Iowa Association for Justice was established in 1973 and works to educate and empower attorneys who fight for justice in the area. The Association also defends the legal rights of Iowans who look for justice in the state’s courts, and promotes injury prevention along with the overall well-being of Iowa families.

Man and women with a golden retriever, donated to man for life
Lolo assisting a therapy session at On With Life.

The most recent endeavor for the IAJ was to raise $10,000 to provide a local charity, On With Life, a new therapy dog.  On With Life is an organization of Brain Injury Rehabilitation Specialists — and seeks to help people with brain injuries to “get on with life’ and to create enriching opportunities for patients through therapy and other methods.

Hupy and Abraham donated $3000 to the IAJ to help pay for the dog’s professional training, care and supplies. Lolo, the puppy, was born in August 2014 and has been working with patients at On With Life since mid-October. Despite being at OWL for a short time, Lolo has already made great strides at the facility. Lolo assists therapists during sessions, helps lift spirits of those served at OWL and research has shown that interaction with therapy dogs can affect certain parts of the brain in a positive effect.

Because of the donation by Hupy and Abraham, Lolo will continue to work at OWL for the future. She was showcased at the IAJ Annual Convention that took place November 6 -7 in Des Moines, IA. Managing Partner Jason Abraham and Shareholder Chad Kreblin attended this Conference.

Hupy and Abraham first moved to Iowa in 2013 and part of the firm’s mission is “doing well by doing good.” By being active in the communities that it serves, Hupy and Abraham has established a philanthropic presence in the state of Iowa.
