Career Youth Development, Inc. (CYD) held their 26th annual "Love in Action" toy giveaway Monday, December 28, 2009 at Milwaukee North Division High School.  Hupy & Abraham partner Chad A. Kreblin presented a check to CYD Executive Director Charles Walton in sponsorship of the event.  "We appreciate the donation from Hupy & Abraham and all of our sponsors who come together each year to help us bring smiles to the faces of little children that may not have received a toy for Christmas," said Mr. Walton.  The event allowed children ages 12 and under to select a gift of their choice.

CYD's toy giveaway was started by the late Jeanette Simpson Robinson, Mr. Walton's mother and the former Executive Director of CYD.  Ms. Robinson started the toy giveaway after she discovered her little granddaughter, Lil Netta giving away her toys at her 5th birthday party to children who had not gotten toys for Christmas.  Her birthday was December 27.  Lil Netta's act of kindness was the inspiration behind the program.  Lil Netta and her mother Cheryl Robinson were murdered in 1984.  In memory of Lil Netta, her grandmother decided to continue the tradition.  In the first year the program provided toys for 20 children.  In 2009, over 2000 Milwaukee youth received toys through the program.

"Tough economic times can prevent some parents from being able to provide their children with the gifts they would like to give.  This law firm is happy to be able to help bring some joy to a child's life during the holidays," said Attorney Kreblin.
