Something is making you uncomfortable at work. Maybe another employee, client or customer has been attacked and injured and maybe you have felt unsafe while doing your job. You worry every time you leave your home to go to work and you are relieved each night as you drive back to your home in Mequon, Whitefish Bay, or another party of Wisconsin.

Worrying Will Not Keep You Safe; Instead Take Action Instead

The most direct way to take action is to talk to your employer about your security concerns. Of course, you want to do this in a way that will not only result in reasonable security at your workplace but also let you keep your job without negative repercussions. Accordingly, you might want to say things like:

  • These are the specific things that concern me. Is there a plan in place to protect employees, customers, and clients?
  • I don’t want to add to your budget concerns, but I am worried that someone is going to be attacked on our property. Can we sit down and talk about ways to provide reasonable security for employees, customers and clients?
  • What can I do to help you provide adequate security while I’m at work?

What you don’t want to do is to accuse your employer of purposefully making your workplace unsafe, or make your employer believe that you are being unreasonable.

You Should Also Know What to Do If You’re Hurt

You can try to get through to your employer and have your employer change his mind about providing you with adequate security. However, the decision about what kind of security to provide is ultimately up to your employer.

And the decision about what to do if you are attacked and injured at work is up to you. Please learn more about your rights by reading our FREE report, Negligent Security: What You Need to Know About It, and please start a live chat with us now to get your specific questions answered.
