In 2014, our client was shopping at a home improvement store in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, when he was struck by a forklift operated by an inattentive employee. He sustained permanent injuries to his ankle.
The store tried to place blame on our client for “jumping” in front of their forklift immediately prior to being struck. Not willing to take responsibility, their best offer was $100,000. Attorney Jim Shilobrit took the case to trial and convinced the jury to place 100 percent liability on the store. The final jury verdict resulted in $256,000 for our client.
