On October 7, 2011, our client was riding his motorcycle on westbound I-794 in Milwaukee when he was sideswiped by another motorist operating a rental vehicle owned by Zipcar, Inc.  Our client sustained serious head and other injuries.

Zipcar’s insurance company offered its $300,000 policy limit, but denied coverage under another liability policy written to cover Zipcar, citing an exclusion buried in the policy’s fine print.

Attorney Jason F. Abraham argued against the insurance company citing the fine print violated the law.  He filed a lawsuit and convinced the court to award an extra $50,000 to our client.  The insurance company filed an appeal, but the Wisconsin Court of Appeals agreed with Attorney Abraham and published new law that restricts the ability of insurance companies to use fine print to deny coverage.
