$32,000 Claimed After Insurance Company's Low Ball Settlement

Our client was rear-ended at a stoplight and suffered a neck injury. The insurance company offered less than the client’s medical bills arguing that the client had a long-standing history of neck problems before the accident. The insurance company also argued that there was minimal damage done to the client’s car in the crash, so the client could not have been hurt.

A lawsuit was filed. At mediation, the insurance company still claimed that the client could not have been injured in the crash. Shortly before trial, the insurance company relented and paid $32,500 to settle the case.
