$275,000 For Client Hit On Her Bike By An Elderly Driver

It was a cold February morning and our Rockford client was riding her bicycle. She was struck by an elderly man making a right-hand turn. She suffered severe injuries that required surgery.

The insurance company initially denied the claim and offered a nuisance value of $25,000. The insurance company also argued our client was intoxicated and riding her bicycle against the traffic.

Attorney Vito Manicioto rejected this offer and disputed their facts. Attorney Manicioto reminded the insurance company that their elderly client should have seen our client who was wearing a bright jacket and claimed she was in the crosswalk.

A lawsuit was filed, and the case was fought all the way through discovery. As a trial date approached, the insurance company reversed its opinion and agreed to settle for $275,000.
