Dear Hupy and Abraham,

The 2016 dual-sport riding season in Wisconsin has become to a close. Both the Ride for Research in June, and the Big Woods 200 in September were fantastic events! Participation in the Adventure Bike and Dual-Sport 101 continues to grow, alongside the traditional dual-sport route. It’s exciting to see so many riders of all abilities enjoying the North Woods together many for the first time.

In June, the Ride for Research raised $14,000 for the UW Carbone Cancer Center in Madison, Wisconsin. This money supports the daily research work of the laboratory staff.

The Big Woods 200 was our largest event with 269 registered riders. With sponsor support and the generous riders, we raised a total of $5,000. All the funds were donated to the Townsend Food Pantry, the Laona Summer Youth Program, the Wabeno School Future Business Leaders Club, and the Andrew Shepherd Scholarship. We enjoyed a chili lunch sponsored by the American Legion Post, an awesome steak dinner provided by the Wabeno Lion’s Club, and a hearty, hot breakfast was served by the Big Easel.

Special thanks and appreciation goes to Key Time Motorsports Husqvarna, Team 2 Racing, Metro Motorcycles, MSR, and CJ Designs, for setting up displays with inventory and bikes and contributing to the exciting atmosphere at both events.

None of this would happen without you, our sponsors! Our club members, event riders, the UW Carbone Cancer Center staff, and the Forest County communities all say;

Thank you for your generous support!

Sincerely,

Perry Abitz
