Milwaukee Rally Recap

Posted on Sep 09, 2010

This year's Milwaukee Rally is over and the vendors have packed up and gone elsewhere. The Metro-Milwaukee Harley-Davdison dealers who organize this event each year are Hal's Harley-Davdison in New Berlin, House of Harley-Davidson in Greenfield, Milwaukee Harley-Davdison and Suburban Harley-Davidson in Thiensville.  While these dealerships were busy entertaining the throngs of riders who attended the weekend festivities, Hupy and Abraham S.C. did its part to help promote the safety of the visiting riders by strategically placing the "Watch For Motorcycles" message throughout the many active locations.  Whether it was bumper stickers, window clings, rights cards, banners or the sides of trucks, many motorists were reminded to Watch For Motorcycles.  Hupy and Abraham S.C. has spent well over $250,000 in the last two years in an effort to get this important message out in order to reduce the number of accidents caused by motorists who just don't look for motorcycles.

Couldn't make it to the rally?  This is a little of what you missed: Hal's had nationally recognized vendors, technicians ready to install those neat accessories you purchased or fix your mechanical needs, music by Greg Koch and a brunch ride to the Iron Horse Hotel on Sunday: House of Harley had a climbing wall to test your skill, music by the likes of Lukyn Skywyrd and Saddlebrook, BBQ and beer garden and tons of vendors; Milwaukee Harley-Davidson featured a burnout pit, swap meet, wet T contest, bikini bike wash and the world's largest beer bong attempt (this dealership was geared toward adult fun); Suburban Motors had a huge vendor area, tattooing and body piercing, the DOT trailer with ride simulator and music by Doctor Snake Oil with special guest, Charlie Brechtel; the HD Museum had the 2011 models on display, demo rides and on Sunday, a huge custom bike show and Charlie Brechtel with Doctor Snake Oil kicking out some biker original songs; Water Street Block Party had a mostly music venue along with the antics of Gallagher's full contact humor and the announcement of the winners of the poker runs and Ms. and Mr. Milwaukee Rally; finally, State Fair Park hosted the 2011 model bikes and demos, lots of bargains on leathers and apparel and the Allstate Garage with sign-ups to win a Dave Perewitz chopper and seminars on safety and women riders by Vicki Sanfelipo; the Bud Pavilion featured Jackyl, Chasin' Mason and Four Lane Highway kicking out the tunes plus bikes by Cook Customs and Jamie's Customs, burnout pits, poker runs and the arrival of the Nation of Patriots Flag.

Let's hope next year is even bigger and better and that Harley-Davidson can continue to call Milwaukee home. It's where it all started and we need to keep the assembly lines rolling out Milwaukee iron for years to come.
