A veteran police officer was riding his motorcycle with his lights flashing and sirens blaring when a car struck him. The officer was near the corner of 35th and West Center Street at the time of the accident.
Two policemen on motorcycles were headed Eastbound on Center Street when a car moved around another vehicle and hit the officer. A witness said that the officer flipped three times before landing on the road. Police say that the officer's head hit the windshield. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Though he escaped without life-threatening injuries he did hurt his leg and was taken to Froedtert Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
