Physicians are supposed to protect and cure the sick and injured.  However, one Wisconsin doctor has been convicted of his fourth DWI.  Though the first three convictions did not lead to serious injury, his fourth offense killed three.

The doctor was driving while under the influence of Ambien, Xanex and Oxycodone when his vehicle struck a car, killing a pregnant woman, the baby she was carrying and her 10 year-old daughter.  Two other passengers were seriously injured.

What makes the case even more horrific is that the accident occurred while the physician was awaiting his 75 day jail sentence from his third DWI conviction.  Just two days before the deadly accident the former doctor was convicted of driving under the influence, yet he continued to drive while impaired by several potent drugs.

The doctor pled no contest in Waukesha County Circuit Court.  He was sentenced to 30 years in prison for three counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and two counts of causing injury while driving intoxicated.

In addition to the criminal charges Wisconsin wrongful death attorneys and personal injury lawyers representing the families settled two civil lawsuits against the former physician.
