The 72nd Anniversary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in the Northern Black Hills of South Dakota started last Monday, August 6th and will run through Sunday the 12th. The first Rally was in 1938 as a racing event, just two years after the founding of The Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club in 1936 and one year after starting an official American Motorcycle Association charter in 1937.

Hupy and Abraham’s very own “Pan” marked firsts for Rally

On Monday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Business Section front page featured Hupy and Abraham’s very own motorcyclist and investigator Tony “Pan” Sanfelipo and his wife Vicki. For decades, they’ve loyally attended the Sturgis Rally and even became the first to get married there atop Crazy Horse Mountain.

Co-founding ABATE of Wisconsin in 1964, Tony was also the first person in the United States to be inducted into the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame’s Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame in 2002. “We have a long history out here of loving the Black Hills. That's for sure," Vicki told the newspaper.

Harley Owners Group (HOG) founder, current Director of Customer Experience and UWM graduate Steve Piehl was inducted into Sturgis Motorcycle & and Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
