Dear Hupy and Abraham S.C.:
Homelessness is a devastating but solvable problem. On behalf of the National Alliance to End Homelessness, I would like to thank you for being part of the solution this holiday season. Your generous donation is what makes it possible for us to implement and share solutions that make a difference in the lives of men, women, and children experiencing homelessness.
At the Alliance, we are dedicated to instituting change, and a first step is the cultivation of knowledge and the promotion of best practices. Our annual State of Homelessness in America report, released in April 2015, is just one example of how we support thought leaders, service providers, reporters, and policy makers. By demystifying the data, and offering a comprehensive, in-depth look at trends and changes across the landscape of homelessness, we are helping to pave the way towards measurable change.
And we are seeing significant impacts. From 2013-2014:
- Thirty-four states saw decreases in their homeless population;
- The supply of permanent supportive housing saw an increase in nearly 16,000 beds;
- And the country experienced a 2.3% decline in overall homelessness, a reduction of over 13,000 people.
As you can see, your support is critical when it comes to ending homelessness. In exchange for your support, we will keep you up-to-date with our progress.
Thank you again for joining the fight to end homelessness.
