“Law; an ordinance of reason for the common good, made by him who has care of the community”
– St. Thomas Aquinas

At Hupy and Abraham, our mission to “do well by doing good” is more than a motto. Each day, the firm’s employees strive to be active supporters of our communities throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa. That is because over the years we’ve learned that to be truly successful, caring for our community must rank just as important as providing legal services to clients. Spearheaded by Attorney Michael F. Hupy, the firm has collectively donated more than $500,000 to more than 250 worthwhile causes in the last three years.

Building a stronger community:

  1. Hapy Valentines from Hupy and AbrahamBy supporting literacy and education in disadvantaged communities – In 2015 Hupy and Abraham, S.C. was a sponsor of the HeartLove Place Back to School Family Rally and helped   over 100 children receive potentially lifesaving fingerprint identification. Over 100 children attended the event and received school supplies such as backpacks and other school necessities. Later in the year, Attorney Jason Abraham’s Paralegal Sarah Olsen graciously showcased the charitable spirit of Hupy employees when she fully funded a local school program in his honor. The donation will provide hands-on learning materials to 20 Milwaukee first- through third-graders with special needs.

  2. By making justice attainable for those in need – On June 17, 2015, the Milwaukee Justice Center (MJC) held its 5th Annual Run for Justice 5K Walk/1 Mile Run. Hupy and Abraham, S.C. was a main sponsor of the event at which more than $11,000 was raised for MJC. In addition to the sponsorship, the Hupy and Abraham runners’ team took home the “Team Spirit” award for having the race’s most positive group aura. The purpose of MJC is to “utilize volunteers to address the unmet legal needs of Milwaukee County’s low-income unrepresented litigants through court-based programs and legal resources.” On Tuesday, September 1, 2015, Attorney Michael Hupy also presented a $50,000 check to support the center.

  3. By supporting those affected by violence – The firm also sponsored the 12th Annual Sojourner Family Peace Center AWEAR Fashion Show. Sojourner’s is the largest nonprofit organization that assists domestic abuse survivors in Wisconsin. Attorney Abraham personally donated over $10,000 that evening, in addition to the firm’s sponsorship. Several Hupy and Abraham, S.C. employees also represented the firm at the 2015 Heart in a Handbag Luncheon hosted by My Home, Your Home, Inc. benefiting its subsidiary Lissy’s Place, a transitional home for women ages 17 to 24. Hupy and Abraham, S.C. has been a longtime sponsor of My Home, Your Home and Attorney Jason Abraham is an honorary board member for the organization.

Year-round, Hupy and Abraham donates, sponsors and volunteers for many other events and organizations across our communities including: The National Alliance to End Homelessness, Second Harvest Food Bank, Make-A-Wish of Wisconsin, Accident Scene Management & Road Guardians, First Stage Children's Theater, The American Cancer Society, DIGDEEP and numerous other deserving groups. As a result, Hupy and Abraham hopes to inspire others to get out and continue to make our community great.

Spread the love – Happy Valentine’s Day!
