Dear Hupy and Abraham,

Thank you for your recent donation in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics Illinois (SOILL). Your generous contribution helps provide year-round training and competitions for nearly 22,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and more than 20,000 Young Athletes (ages 2-7) with and without intellectual disabilities in Illinois.

2014 proved to be a milestone year for the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run, as more than $3.7 million was raised for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. Reaching this goal allows even more athletes to enjoy the transformative power of sport and the Special Olympics experience.

This year’s Torch Run will take place June 7-12 across the state. Nearly 3,000 officers will carry the Flame of Hope 1,500 miles for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. While the fundraising and special events will continue until the end of the year, the actual run will culminate with lighting the cauldron to open the 2014 Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games in Normal on June 12th.

Thanks to you, these athletes inspire greatness in everyone! Thanks again for your support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run!

Sincerely,

Sherman Police Department
