Reporting a Car Crash with the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) has established and maintains an extensive website. They offer many services and vital information to those living in and traveling through the city. As Wisconsin car accident attorneys we are most interested in parts of the site that pertain to car and traffic safety. Below you will find important information available on the website. Please click on any of the underlined links to visit the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office website.

  • Report a Crash Online- If you have been involved in an accident on the Milwaukee County Freeway System during a weather emergency you can go online and fill out an accident report form. This form must be submitted within 24 hours of the accident. Once the report is submitted an officer will contact you within two business days to begin the accident investigation.
  • Car Seat Checks- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department offers free car seat checks. They do so in order to help parents ensure a proper fit and installation of their car seat. In addition, the MCSO would like to lower the rates of child injury and death during a serious car accident. Currently, 4 out of 5 car seats are installed incorrectly. However, when installed correctly car seats reduce the risk of infant death in a crash by 71%.
  • Accident Report Lookup- This page can be used to look up an accident. You may search by the name of someone involved in the crash, the report number or date of the accident.

The staff and attorneys at the personal injury law firm of Hupy & Abraham believe that knowledge is power. Be helping you file a timely police report, despite severe weather, we hope that any accident claim you make will help you get the compensation you deserve.
