Operation Teen Safe Driver is a program that originated in Tazewell County, Illinois. Police took notice after car accidents took the lives of 15 teens in as many consecutive months. They knew that they had to work harder to prevent accidents that involved teenaged drivers.

In response, the county formed Operation Teen Safe Driver.

Since its inception two years ago, there have been no teen accident fatalities in Tazewell County. Now, the Ford Motor Company Fund and the Governors Highway Safety Association have teamed up with the Illinois Department of Transportation to take the program statewide. Please read on to learn more about how OTSD can keep you and your teen driver safe.
