On Tuesday, April 1, the Blood Center of Wisconsin conducted a blood drive at the Milwaukee Center, where Hupy and Abraham’s main office is located. To help save lives, Hupy and Abraham allowed employees to donate blood on work time.

Several Hupy and Abraham employees took time out of their workday to participate in the blood drive. Hupy and Abraham’s partners encouraged employees, who help injured people every day, to donate and save lives. Often times, car accident victims need blood donations to live.

Patients in more than 50 local hospitals served by the Blood Center of Wisconsin need approximately 800 units of blood each day.  A standard one pint donation can save up to three lives.

Although some are intimidated by the idea of giving blood Hupy and Abraham employees described the process as “painless,” and said it only took 45 minutes to complete. All you have to do is answer some questions, wait a few minutes for the blood to be drawn and then rest and eat snacks to raise blood sugar levels to recuperate.

As a personal injury law firm, Hupy and Abraham is always proactively looking for ways to save lives.  This is the second quarterly blood drive in which Hupy and Abraham employees have been paid work time to participate. Hupy and Abraham also encourages their partners, clients and friends to donate blood if they ever get the chance to do so.
