On March 13, 2014, the personal injury law firm of Hupy and Abraham sponsored the “Centro Legal Annual Luncheon” to help Centro Legal continue its important work in the community. The event took place at the Italian Conference Center in Milwaukee and three of the firm’s attorneys, Todd Korb, Tom Perlberg and Evan Claditis, personally attended.
During the program, Centro Legal Executive Director Heather Ramirez explained how their organization plays a pivotal role in the community while Centro Legal Senior Attorney Jason Mishelow moderated a panel discussion in which distinguished community dignitaries described the challenges that domestic violence victims face.
The panel was comprised of the Honorable Carl Ashley of the Milwaukee County Circuit Court, Hector Hernandez of the Sojourner Family Peace Center and Mariana Rodriguez of the UMOS Latina Resource Center. Each panelist provided a unique perspective during the discussion.
Centro Legal provides affordable legal services to low-income individuals in Milwaukee County, many of which are victims of domestic violence. Supporters like Hupy and Abraham enable them to keep serving more and more people.
In 2013, Centro Legal represented over 800 clients and served more than 1,300 people through family law classes and consultation programs. Without Centro Legal, these people would be forced to face the criminal justice system alone.
Hupy and Abraham has loyally supported Centro Legal in an effort to strengthen the Milwaukee community. The personal injury law firm not only sponsored this event last year, but also sponsored Centro Legal’s other fundraising event, “Centro LeGala.”
