The personal injury law firm of Hupy and Abraham was the leading contributor to Patrick Wirth’s effort to raise money to fight multiple sclerosis (MS) during the "2013 Best Dam Bike Ride." Wirth participated in the "2013 Best Dam Bike Ride" in conjunction with his team, the "Peppy Pedalers", who together raised almost $50,000.

Wirth, a colleague of Attorney Michael Hupy, anticipated that the two-day ride would transpire at a “fairly slow, leisurely pace.” But the Peppy Pedalers had a number of strong cyclists that pushed Wirth and the rest of the team to average over 20 miles per hour during their 100-mile trek on Day 1.

On Day 2, the group traversed at a slower, more relaxed pace but still covered 105 miles as they rode their bikes on Wisconsin’s back roads from Whitewater to Madison. When the cyclists weren’t riding, they were enjoying ceremonies and festivities after a hard day’s work!

Each year, the "Best Dam Bike Ride" brings together hundreds of bicyclists who share a common dream of a world without MS. Many of the cyclists have a friend or relative who is suffering from MS, which motivates them as they bike over 200 miles in just two days.

After participating in the event for the first time, Wirth said, “Riding the scenic back roads of southeastern Wisconsin with perfect weather and new friends and riding with pride knowing I was riding for a great cause made for one fantastic experience!”

Thanks to Hupy and Abraham’s generosity, Wirth was able to almost double his personal fund-raising goal.
