Michael Hupy with fellow attorneysThe Milwaukee Justice Center (MJC) is a partnership between the Milwaukee Bar Association, Milwaukee County and Marquette University Law School. As its mission states, the purpose of the MJC is to “utilize volunteers to address the unmet legal needs of Milwaukee County’s low-income unrepresented litigants through court-based programs and legal resources.”

These values align with the ideology of Milwaukee Attorney Michael Hupy.

When he was approached about the MJC and its fundraising efforts in 2012, Michael Hupy identified strongly with the message of the Center. One day after their initial meeting, Attorney Hupy pledged to give $100,000 to the MJC over the next 3 years.

Attorney Hupy has said, “There are times when duty calls and we must step up to the plate for the public good to fulfill our professional obligations.” He strongly believes in giving back to the community.

As a founding member of the MJC, Attorney Hupy continues to monitor its progress. In March 2014, Attorney Hupy delivered another monetary gift to the Center. Lawyers, paralegals and law students come together and volunteer so the less fortunate are able to have proper access to the legal system. The MJC manages multiple stations that stand as legal clinics, offering referral services and additional information. Over 10,000 clients will be helped during 2014. When he is able, Attorney Hupy stops by the MJC to answer questions from clients.

In 2013, Attorney Hupy was named as one of the “Leaders in the Law” by the Wisconsin Law Journal. This title is given to those that are making a difference in Wisconsin’s legal community.

Attorney Hupy is President of his firm - Hupy and Abraham, S.C. - which has been recognized multiple times as one of the area’s best personal injury law firms.

“The mission of our firm is to provide the best legal services, but also to give back from our successes,” Attorney Hupy has stated. He and the employees of his firm honor this mission by continuing to contribute to the community and to do well by doing good.

For years, Attorney Hupy’s firm has supported a vast array of organizations including Veteran’s Affairs, Feeding America and the American Cancer Society. Hupy and Abraham, S.C. has highly touted its Motorcycle Awareness campaign that urges motorists to “Watch for Motorcyles.” This campaign has resulted in over 10 million views.

The Milwaukee community is grateful for people like Attorney Michael Hupy, for they assist groups that try to create resources for those with the most need.
