A: There is no decibel level requirement in Wisconsin state law. The federal DOT has adopted an 80 or 83 decibel level, depending on the manufacture year of the bike. 

You do not have to submit to a decibel test upon request of an officer, nor do you have to start your bike or rev the engine upon request. 

Be calm.  You have rights; don't give them up.
