On September 7, 2012, a Rockford woman was driving some friends home when she was rear-ended by a large pick-up truck, propelling her vehicle into the SUV in front of her, causing extensive damage. She sustained not only neck, back and shoulder injuries, but also suffered from depression as a result of the accident.

After the insurance company refused to offer a decent amount of money for her injuries, Hupy and Abraham filed suit. Defense counsel fought to keep pictures of the vehicle damage out of evidence, but Hupy and Abraham prevailed and the jury was allowed to see the extensive damage caused by the Defendant’s negligence. The jury deliberated for about an hour before returning a verdict for the plaintiff for nearly $7,000 over the insurer’s pre-law suit offer.
