When is the best time to contact an attorney after a slip and fall?

We would like you to first seek medical attention.  Your well-being far outweighs our need to see you.  When you see the doctor be sure to let her know where you fell and how you landed.  Do not minimize or exaggerate your injuries.  Any false information can mislead the doctor; a dangerous situation for you.

It is especially crucial that you let the doctor know if you believe you hit your head.  The effects of head trauma may not surface for hours, even days after a blow to the head.

If possible, see if witnesses or a family member can take pictures of the scene.  In a slip and fall case the evidence is often cleaned up or removed soon after the accident, leaving you without solid evidence.  Also, if you are able, do file a report with the manager or property owner.  Doing so will record important information about the details of the fall.  If possible check the report to ensure that all the information listed is accurate.

Once you have followed these steps you may need to contact an experienced slip and fall attorney.  Having an attorney can help you get the compensation you may need for ongoing medical care and lost wages.  The attorneys at Hupy & Abraham do their best everyday to get their clients maximum compensation for their injuries.  Please contact your Green Bay personal injury attorneys at Hupy & Abraham today.
