Is your insurance coverage high enough for the new Wisconsin law?

Two months ago Wisconsin implemented a new law that raised the minimum insurance coverage drivers must maintain.  The law requires that you:

  • Carry at least liability coverage that includes $15,000 for property damage, $50,000 for the injury or death of one person and $100,000 for the injury or death of more than one person.

Do you have adequate coverage?  If not, you may be in trouble.  Police are no longer giving free passes for non-compliance.  Fines for not carrying the proper insurance will run you up to $500.

Though you must carry auto insurance in Wisconsin, that doesn't mean that you have to pay an arm and a leg.  At Hupy & Abraham, we deal enough with insurance companies to know that they are most often looking out for their bottom line; not your best interests.
