Have you seen driver’s texting and driving?
I know that I have and I never cease to be amazed. I understand that as modern Americans we see the car as an extension of our home. We eat meals there, talk on the phone and even watch movies. However, all of these activities amount to one thing: Danger.
Texting and driving is the newest form of distracted driving. This habit is particularly dangerous as it takes your eyes off of the road for extended periods of time.
At Hupy & Abraham we have worked hard to promote the awareness of bikers on the road. Our Watch for Motorcycle program focuses solely on this issue. How can anyone be fully aware of their surroundings and the cars and motorcycles around them while texting? They can't.
Please do your part and Watch for Motorcycles. This means putting down the phone, the fast food burger and the newspaper and concentrating on the road. It may just save a life.
